#28

After reading about Getting Things Done, I started putting it to practice. Today when I got to work I tried the first step, Collecting. I made a little list of things that needed to be done today at work, and as obstacles came up that wouldn’t take to long to correct I fixed them immediately. Although I noticed a tremendous change with how hard th work felt and how much I got accomplished it felt as if spending to much time thinking about organizing was wasting more time then actually working. So instead I’ve decided to tweak the idea of GTD and add some steps that are necessary and removed ones that aren’t. I call it “L.A.Z.I.”

L ist- Look at everything that needs to be done and prioritize what needs to get done first

A ttack- Attack the first thing on the top of your list and cross them off as you go.

Z ap- Zap obstacles in your way. Take care of any immediate challenges (IE helping customers, shelving a overfilled cart, etc…)

I nspect- Make sure everything on your list is accomplished and if not repeat the steps in getting it accomplished.

Overall I’m quiet pleased with the results of this module so far and look forward to the other ones, thanks again IHCPL.
